Transparency
Not all diamonds are transparent, meaning they are cloudy or translucent. If a diamond is cloudy, it will not display adequate brilliance and sparkle regardless of cut. This is due to finely divided particles that interrupt the passage of light through the stone. The higher the transparency, the more valuable the diamond.
